Barbell Squat

This is an extremely popular exercise with few doing it correctly. This exercise is desigened to work the Glutes, and muscles both front and rear of upper leg. It is a compound exercise that includes the knee, hip, ankle and even trunk extension.

You should set the rack up just lower then shoulder height. Step under bar with upper traps supporting the bar. Keep hands as close as possible to your shoulders while holding the bar. Stand upright and take a step back from the weight rack.

Have feet a foot wider than shoulder width apart. Head straight, eyes forward, back straight. Start by bending at the hips and knees. Keep your feet flat on the floor at all times.

Decend as far down with out curving or over extending your back. Keep your knees over your toes. Push up squeeze glutes at the top of the movement.
